Zombie Focus
This won’t be a long one because not much of consequence happened today. I woke up and grabbed the leftover wedges from my ill-advised meal yesterday and filled a thermos with cold water and sat at my computer. That was at some point before 8am. I got up after 5pm. There was no leaving the chair in between. I drank three and a half pints of water over that time and ate a couple handfuls of cold potato wedges. I was pretty dialled into what I was doing. What I was doing was creating a new custom map for C&C. Turns out, you can create whole missions in that tool. I’m way too interested in that now. But the map I made was beautiful. Then I started getting carried away and selfish. I started adding units and structures for my team so that I start with a fully formed base. I tested it out in a skirmish and after wiping the enemy there was a building that was credited to them that my army didn’t attack instinctively so I was able to build up quite a force (partially pictured below) and accumulate most of the resources on the map. It was fun but I think in the future I’ll knock down the building. I went back to the editor to try and remove some of the cheater aspects and found that I can’t. So that whole map isn’t going to be very useful now, except to build my self esteem.
When I finally got up, I ended up doing all the laundry and making some more pogos for dinner. I also made a test batch of the chicken balls. They were not ideal when baked. I also didn’t bake them correctly, I didn’t turn them or spread them evenly on a baking sheet. It had a large effect. They were somewhat cold, despite being cooked a few extra minutes. You can’t cheat the system I guess. When the wash-up was done I called my parents who you know are visiting this upcoming week and reviewed a jam packed itinerary. There was one item I was trying to squeeze out but I couldn’t properly justify doing so, being that I had limited alternatives. The one I had was taken off the table. They didn’t seem overly interested in my work so it was a quick call. They were watching Mission Impossible II for the first time. I saw the screen for two seconds at one point and correctly identified the film. It was the scene where she is standing on the cliff and I nailed it. Inspired, I fired up Netflix for the first time in weeks and saw The Old Guard was available for viewing, so I did just that. It ended right at bedtime, convenient. That was the day. Oh, one more thing I forgot off the top, I started into my new bodywash. I obviously bought it because of the marketing but I have to admit, I really enjoy the scent so far. We’re only one day in but I’m looking forward to using it again tomorrow.
