COVID Cut
Today I started a new era, the era of a trimmed mop and unkempt beard. It was a different world that I’m moving on from. Previously I had an unkempt mop of hair with an accompanying beard. No hair touched on the head. Now one has been managed and the other is much more obviously out of place. I’ve decided to carry forward with the beard for now, recognizing that it will be the one time in my life that I can get away with this kind of foolishness. I’m deep into it now, most people I know have abandoned their efforts or are into their third or forth renditions of minor beards. I’ve kept it going strong. We setup a chair and a tablecloth to catch the errant hairs that came tumbling down. Armed with only kitchen scissors and a very rudimentary knowledge of hair cutting we went on an adventure. It took well over thirty minutes to trim it down, I did my part by trimming down the video in the form of time lapse.
To be fair, that happened the previous day. Today was much slower. There was no fishing. It was cold and rainy all day long. Since I didn’t bring pants with me, I was ill equipped for such conditions. Instead I watched garbage TV, chauffeured my Dad to town and back and then read my book. The meals were spectacular though. I made some old style breakfast bullets for breakfast. There was homemade hamburger soup for lunch. And a turkey dinner of sorts for supper. The real standout item were the bagel balls. A new thing my mother tried, they were cream cheese filled and excellent. The most exciting piece is that they are a small step away from kolaches. I NEED to get kola he’s going here.
