Most of the day I really felt like I wasn’t on vacation. Things started pretty good, up early and down to the lake to get some early morning fishing in. I caught a small, angry small mouth bass. After casting off the south side of the pier for an hour I saw a fish jump way off to the left so I went around the East side and casted in there and caught it within a matter of minutes.
I got home and was almost immediately bamboozled into going to help the Big T. It happened in a frustrating way. I helped him changed the nozzles on the sprayer. Turns out the other ones were also on wrong so it turned into twice the job, as it often does. As I was set to leave, my aunt drove by and pointed to the farm. I stopped there and ended up helping her hill the potatoes. Most of them were done by another aunt already so it was a small section needing doing. I redid much of what was done to make the hills a bit bigger too. My arms and shoulders will be sore tomorrow.
Now gassed, I went home to shower and have lunch. I got the call that some old friends wanted me to go out on the lake with them, definitely doing that. I got mixed up in another T drama beforehand and I’ll spare you the gorey details but I ended up not getting to have a dinner in the mix. We went out on a thirty foot, tri-toon boat, the party barge. We picked a few buddies up and went out to the sandbar to fish. Only catching a few and with wives starting to text it was time to head back. They didn’t want the fun to end so we had a fire at my buddies’ place on the water. It was pretty sweet. A couple guys got pretty toasted in my honour, I had to hold off as I was driving home. I got several offers to sleep in basements but I’ve learned that lesson. Don’t accept a husband’s drunken hospitality when his wife isn’t on that same page. I dropped off Theodore Complete and got to sneak into my parent’s house around midnight, just like the good old days.
