Day of the Father

It’s the one day of the year that we celebrate the father, at least in the Western world. It oddly worked out that I was here in person this year, at my childhood home to celebrate. Except my parents were away, helping my sister move, as you’ll recall from yesterday’s post. Speaking of yesterday, after I left a post for you, I went and did something neat. I dusted off my old pool table that lives here and shot a rack. I setup up a camera and moved it around while I did so. I did some editing to make it flow faster and added a song. Because of the song it is unlisted on YouTube, since that would be the fate of it anyways. I could have sought some royalty free stuff but I liked this better. Check it out maybe, it’s short.

As for today’s events, I was up shortly after 5am to let the dogs out. We did a short walk together then I took off for a McBreakfast then fishing. Conditions weren’t great with the wind blowing in. I tried lighter lures and they floated quite a bit or almost sailed back at me in the wind. I think I’ll have to revert to some split shot on the leader to keep lures out of the waves. Theodore Complete was there too, we both sacrificed a jig to the lake. As we were packing up and chatting on the tailgate, GRP jogged by and stopped for a minute. It’s fun to be back where some people know your name. After picking up all the errant coolers, I was home in time for a quiet afternoon. I did the classic thing where I bled one crappy action film into another all afternoon. It’s been over a year since I danced those steps. We went outside a few times and I easily got my steps in. My parents came home before dinner, not much of note happened in the evening hours.
