Food Storm
Today was a disappointing day. Not least if all because I didn’t cut the lawn. It was very muggy out for likely the first time all year, that’s my excuse this time. I slept very poorly the previous night and my motivation level was sorely lacking. I was lethargic and foolish. I now believe that part of the issue was that I crushed an entire large thin crust. I know I shouldn’t have done it. I felt bad doing it, I felt terrible right after and I felt poorly the rest of the night into the next day. That feeling delayed breakfast several hours which eliminated lunch. Despite not feeling fantastic and having a large amount of food swimming around inside me, I was able to cook up a storm. I started out by making a scrambled egg and bacon wrap. I used three eggs, turns out was one too many. I thought three and three had some symmetry. I wanted to burn off some of the three egg energy so I cleaned three toilets. That effort led to a nap. The nap led to the kitchen. I cooked up five chicken breasts and made my third ever batch of rice crispy squares. I’m getting quick about it.
Once the Instant Pot was cleaned and dried I filled it up again with jasmine rice and made a bigger batch than normal. I should be setup for some quick meals in the near future. I fell into a rabbit hole of YouTube videos on recliner repair, none of which were helpful. I turned on the TV and finally watched the Joker. I probably have things to say about that film but I’ll save it. It was time to eat again, it had been upwards of six hours. I cooked two strips of bacon and got some rotini on the boil. I dried the bacon and strained the grease before adding some leftover browned ground beef to the residual grease. Once warmed I dumped in a jar of tomato and basil Classico sauce with two healthy lunches of dried basil. Cause you know they skimp. Crushed the bacon up and sprinkled it over top the simmering pan with some red pepper flakes for fun. Nice little pasta dish for a Saturday.
