Savoury and Sweet

I needed a serious pick me up after a real Monday. It seems to be extra stressful when you find out that something that was done has come undone. Especially when you’ve communicated to customers that it was done and they’ve made plans on their end based on your information. It’s a stupendous feeling to circle back and have that conversation to let them know you’ve disappointed them again. Our company internal people seem to have less issue with such news. I guess they aren’t facing the terrors of the outside. Couple that frightful feeling with being on a conference call for eight consecutive hours! And that call being preceded by another call for an hour and starting work an hour ahead of that. All in all, it adds up to a pretty shitty day. I was also still a bit sluggish or something from my weekend adventures. I hope the universe balances this day with some good ones coming up. I don’t want to perennially pay the piper. So what can I do to cheer myself up? Can’t swing out to the shops to nab a basket of iced cream and crumpets. That’s against the rules. I rummaged through my slowly dwindling cupboards to try and find something to inflate my sense of happiness. I remembered this stupid hot chocolate that my mother gave me in my stocking in December 2018 that has been laying around. It was bacon flavoured. I think I’ve had it before, a prior gift from her. It was in a powder format and I was feeling too lazy to boil water on the stove. Luckily, I found an empty K-cup in my Keurig because I’m the worst and I ported the HC into that cup. While that was brewing, I fried up a pan of bacon. If you want bacon hot chocolate (or if you don’t but have it anyways) you should maximize the experience. I did just that. Plus, this way I have bacon for my breakfast samidges in the morning. Hopefully it tastes as fancy as it looks.
