Quiet Saturday
I didn't have any plans for today. Nothing was happening in the basement. I didn't have to be anywhere. I didn't have anything pressing that needed to be handled. It's odd that I actually have my freedom. I skipped breakfast in favour of continuing on in my book for the first time in a week. I've dealt with my daily Microsoft Solitaire Collection Challenges. Only a couple of days left for that. I've already been able to secure the highest award possible. The only accolade left to complete my adventure with it is to post a perfect month. So far, so good. I decided I would only prepare two meals today, an early meal and a late meal. The early meal was a classic. I finally had the spice that I've been missing lately. I got it for Christmas from the Chef. It's called shichimi togarashi. It's a Japanese blend of spices that I like to season a certain aspect of the dish with. I don't know anything about the spice. I experimented with it when give my first jar years ago by my Mom. I found it fits in this dish in a certain way and eventually I ran out. Without the food sucked and I stopped making it altogether. Now I'm back! So that was a big moment in an otherwise slow day. I rented The Foreigner starring Jackie Chan and watched that. It was enjoyable, fast paced action sequences. Not sure all the accents were on point but it kept me busy. It was a better film than 47 metres down. The film was recommended to me by the Sassy Girl. It was a thriller of sorts. It had my attention for large chunks of the movie but it also included some sequences that lost me completely. There was also a big piece in the movie that I feel like they added just to get to the "necessary" 90 minute mark. I followed that up with Adam at the Wedding. It featured a cringe worthy performance by Justin Long. I hope he's that good at acting and isn't actually like his character, for his sake! I better go do some exercise before commencing with preparing my late meal for the day. Can't go without.
