Quick Rant

So I've been dabbling in the world of Amazon.ca in 2017. I've made a half dozen orders, usually for an item or two at a time. I haven't crossed the path into ordering things that I can swing out and get in fifteen minutes, mostly books or specialty items, like the phantom putting mat for my sister's wedding that I didn't even write about on here. I've actually been to a couple of weddings and also seen an old friend in her natural habitat for the first time in fifteen years and not a peep. Part of that is because my computer is ham-strung by a broken power switch. That makes posting near impossible. Life and work have also been quick full, ie, two weddings in three weeks type of scenario. Anyways, I'm hoping to get the computer running and corner Cheese to record some Conversations. Those are two goals for the next two weeks. But before that arrives, let me tell you about why I'm so angry/disappointed this morning. My latest Amazon order went in at the start of the month, a good twenty days ago. I was assured that I would have it a week ago and nothing showed up. I sat and waited. Then yesterday I finally reached out to the seller to ask what was going on. They didn't provide any tracking information and I feared that someone had relieved me of a delivered package. I've heard of such affairs transpiring after all. They said it was shipped when I was told and that they hoped it arrived soon. Well, isn't that a comforting response from a faceless online entity. I can be a patient man so I sat back and accepted that response. Wouldn't you know it, a day later I have two shiny packages awaiting me in the post. I hurry home and excitedly rip them open only to discover that one of the books is not what I ordered. Um, guys, you sell books but can't read. They weren't even close either. I ordered a novel by Oliver Harris and got a book by Margaret Atwood. No! Unacceptable. Without knowing anything about the return process, I'm livid about the possibility that I have to do something other than order and wait for my prize. This better not cost me an extra penny either. I can't even put into words my distaste right now. This is not going to be enjoyable and writing the incredibily negative review will be even more unsettling. I'm not sure if I can continue this fantasy life of ordering things online anymore. I don't know what I'm going to do.
