Happy Rain
It's pouring rain and I couldn't be more pleased. I finally get a full day off. I didn't get a day off last weekend. It feels like we've been really pushing hard this fall. We often find ourselves catching up on the rain days and then hammering down through the weekends. We did away with our soybean work in a relatively short window and the same theme is following for corn. We're sitting at the halfway mark for corn which is pretty good considering the year that was. We pushed a little harder than normal last night and took a second site off. We also lost a day of harvest on Thursday as I was at a meeting to discuss new potential soybean products for Canada and my guy had to go help a colleague of mine to partially satisfy a previous arrangement. I still owe her one day of labour this fall. We're also negotiating the trade for my roller. It's good to have fun at work. So we're in a decent spot at the moment, the forecast is drumming up some stress for next week but at the moment I'm happy about things. I'm trying to catch up on life today, working on Christmas lists, cleaning the bathrooms, washing the beds, basically everything I need to do except dusting. I am still flirting with the idea of hiring a cleaner to come in and deep clean all the stuff I hate doing. I've been encouraged by many to just do it but I'd like to be here to deter theft. Regardless of my presence, I'll probably hide anything of value for the duration of their service. It's in my nature. So it can rain it's little heart out today as far as I'm concerned, less is better for everyone else but for now, I'm sitting pretty and feeling good.
