Felt the Darkness

I pushed us pretty hard today to clean up the last of the notes. We didn't get to the finish line but we got the worst of it finished off. The rest is going to fall on me. I tasked my assistant with pulling the rest of the soil samples while I made comments on new corn genetics. We went together to an offsite for him to pull more samples and for me to take my notes. He went to the lab and I went to another site to gather data. I got so caught up in what I was doing that I lost track of time and eventually lost the light. I was taking some photos of interesting things in a new trait trial and started to realize that the pictures weren't clear. It was only then that I realized that the sun had set. I guess I can get into my work a little too much. Either way, we're into corn and that is the second to last phase of the field season. After corn is tillage. Preparing the land for the next spring. I am hoping I can enjoy several months of my home office this year. That comes after tillage and closing of the farm. It is an exciting time. I just thought I'd pop on here to drop a wee update before too much time passes between visits. Hope all is well and most importantly, go Leafs go!
