Solid Saturday
**Derailed! I was about 2/3 writing this post and I clicked outside the window by accident during a violent sneezing fit and lost it all. It took me several weeks to get over the frustration and anger of losing that well written piece. Here is a dumb downed and crappy version weeks later.
I felt the blight of rejection from a failed social encounter and my good friend Brown stepped in to save the day. I had a personal adventure go awry and the next day Brown recognized I was down in the dumps and sought to right the ship. He had the day to himself and we quickly made plans. We met up for lunch, saw Rogue One on IMAX 3D. I highly recommend that film in that medium. It's one of the good ones. Usually I don't have much good to say about 3D versions of things but this one was excellent. After that we dipped into the adjacent Chapters store and I bought the last two editions of Wheel of Time. I have all fourteen books now, nothing can stop me. Except the need to eat, sleep and work. I went on ahead to his lair and he made a couple of stops on the way home. He got beer, Old Style Pilsener, and bought GTA V for us to enjoy. He had a couple of other surprises as well. He was trying a new cut of steak for work and prepared a delicious dinner. We also put up a banana stand of boards and protective layers over the windows in his front porch. Why? So we could set up a butcher block to throw knives at! We weren't just throwing knives willy-nilly. He has official throwing knives, a set of six. Best I could manage was three of six. He got 6/6 and then started showing off, picking corners and such. I helped with dinner in the meantime, watching the sweet potato tater tots. They went with the steak, cheese and bread. He did that thing with the oil and balsamic vinegar to dip the bread in. It was all delicious. I don't recall what the sauce was that he made for the steak but it was tasty. I'm sure it wasn't the healthiest meal I could have enjoyed but it was fantastic. Then we settled down for beers and vidja games. It was a nice day to help me forget my woes. Thanks buddy!
