Terrific T Timing
I wanted to slam this one down previously but I have to post it retroactively. My Monday evening got hijacked by the T. The story is humourous if you know the T so I will share it in this medium. So the T is notoriously early for everything and as far as I can tell, has been for years. At least the 33 years that I've known him. His logic is that he generally travels from the furthest distance so he has to account for the most variables. There is some logic to that, which is probably why I subscribe to the same theory. Either that or it was a learned behaviour, monkey see, monkey do after all. He called me Sunday night as inquired if I'd be home and was interested in staying here on Tuesday night and then attending a meeting with me on Wednesday. He explained that he was going to drive down, meet a colleague on the way and have them drive to the meeting's destination. He inferred that his meeting was going to cover a meal on Monday and then all day Tuesday, at which point he would return to my domicile to attend a separate meeting on Wednesday. Sounds like a simple plan that maximizes the time he spends in the south right? I thought so and agreed to help him do this. Trouble was, when he walked into the office and told his ride-mate that the was ready to go, she was baffled. Apparently he was a full day early and his meeting was actually Tuesday and Wednesday! Classic T. As this is being posted much later, I can reveal as an epilogue that he stayed with me on both Monday and Wednesday. We shared a lovely meal at Boston Pizza and watched a couple of Jays games on the television. He also walked the dog for me a couple of times and she was overjoyed to have her "Dad" back, if just for a couple of nights. All in all it worked out for the best. Well, except he had to burn a day of vacation due to his error. And having arrived mid-afternoon Monday had to just chill out at my house, unsuccessfully trying to have a nap. Worked out well for me though.
