Launching Dealers

This will be a fairly short update. At least I prophesize that it will be. Apparently prophesize isn't a real word. How about that eh? Must be the Canadian spelling. Anyways, enough stalling. Yesterday was the fabled dealer launch. You probably haven't heard of it but what happens is that all of our local seed dealers congregate at one of our sites and we review the year that was, train them for the next year, and thank them for their business. I hosted it this year at my research farm. The place had to be immaculate. We haven't exactly kept things perfect this summer. It's been nice but not the perfection that is expected for big ticket events like the dealer launch. For the better part of the summer it was dressed like it was going to church but for the dealer launch it basically has to look like it's going to prom and the hottest girl in school actually said yes. You heard she was supposed to go with the quarterback but in the end, she chose you. That kind of perfect looking. I wasn't oblivious to the fact, this isn't my first rodeo cowboy. I had my people do some prep work beforehand, some spraying and some rototilling, etc. But in the days leading up to the show we had to really go wild. We spent two full days getting it primped and primed for the big day. It was a very labourious experience. Many steps were taking. The first day of prep it was just the four beating hearts of my team, the second was a larger group. When the sun rose on the morning of, the stage was set. I think it went fairly well. Nobody stood up in the middle of a presentation to fist pump and exclaim "YES" out of sheer excitement, causing others in the group to question whether they had just won Lotto 649 or anything, but it was a good day. There are surveys at the dealers to fill in to describe their experience, as well as any strengths or weaknesses of the day. I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for those results to be summarized. I'd like to know what they thought, the audience is the true critic after all. I actually received many thanks for the work put in which doesn't always happen. It was foreign territory for me. I guess the point of this post is, one down, one to go....
