Surrogacy Works

The little dog swap experiment worked out just fine. There was actually another night tossed in there. The dog actually seemed to enjoy it more. My personal theory is that they live in a super old house which probably reminded her of my grandma's house, which was also old and smells of the elderly. I'm not sure what causes that smell or how it permeates things or even how it is a thing, let alone possess the ability to describe what it smells like. You'll know it when you smell it is all I can offer in that regard. I should point out also that swap isn't really the right word for that first sentence since nothing was really exchanged for the dog. I mean I got a nice house-warming gift a few years late that if you visit I will show you, but otherwise I asked them if they could do it and they went out of their way to be my solution. It's good to have friends who can help you out in that regard. I found out after the fact that Philly Nads also would have solved that particular problem. The meeting was also a raging success. I learned a lot and it strengthened my belief in a new direction my company is taking. Before that training session (8am to 5pm) I was not convinced that it was a smart direction to go in, but it seems pretty legit now that they have unveiled more details of their master plan. Go to Climate.com if you want to learn more. It has been a very busy week at regular work too. Many things are getting checked off the list, to my delight. Two thirds of my team is leaving me next Friday so it's important to scramble and get everything done as soon as we can. This involved me getting my hands dirty for the first time in a couple of weeks. I enjoyed my holidays, put it that way. I was slated to take this week off but several immovable items in my schedule forced me to get after it. Couple that with twice a day dog walks and imminent play time in the house and suddenly I don't have much time. I have barely even watched the Olympics, partly due to disinterest, partly to lack of time. Going to bed at 9:30pm and rising at 6am also keeps things tight. But I'm maintaining the balance for the time being. Well not socially, I'm pretty much ignoring that aspect of life right now. Maybe it will pick up as time goes on. Check and see.
