Somebody had a case of the Mondays
Every little thing Monday grinded my gears. All day it was one thing after another than was bothering me. I don't know if it was the heat or the time of year or the fact that I never got my full week off in August due to various functions and commitments. But it was certainly something that was bruising my day. It came out like an old bag of peaches. But the important part is that I got out alive. I was able to make it home, feed the dog, play with her and get her things packed up. Then I did something I've never officially done, maybe not still. Cheese and I both got the Headspace app and tried it out for the first time. We are on the free trial but I'm leaning towards dropping the $130 for the year to give a good go, or at least try and sign up for 6 months or some kind of deal. I think it's $550 for life but I'd like to get through just the first day before I drop that kind of cheddar. What is it? You didn't click the link? Okay, you hate links, I'll tell you then. It's a guided meditation. Actually it's an app with many such experiences. It starts you out small with just ten minutes but then gets much bigger with longer sessions. There are specialized sessions and other things that look cool too. Cheese has been experimenting and meditating for some time and I've just heard great things. I tried it, how did it go? It was awesome. In ten short minutes and no money spent I came out feeling completely relaxed. Even with a dog licking her chops and carrying on in the room I was able to sink inside and almost fell asleep towards the end I was so relaxed. If you've never tried it, I suggest you do. At least once, go in with no expectations but really put the effort in to give it an honest chance. Refreshing. I'm excited to see if the next nine sessions have similiar effects. So after that exhilarating experience, I loaded up the dog and we struck off from Brown-town. We arrived shortly after him, and brought Mags into the house. I went out to get her gear and she was crying and being weird. So we sat awhile and visited then took her for a long-ish walk before dark. She was good. Brown took her back into the house and I got in the truck and left. He reports not a peep, she was good the rest of the night and then they shut it down. He said that every time he woke up in the night she was quietly sitting near the bed staring at him. But by morning was back in her bed asleep. So we'll see how it goes, I'm glad she's not being a douche. I had to pack a bag for the overnight trip I'm making for work. I won't see her again for a few days so settling in over there was re-assuring. We'll find out how it went in a few days. Until then.....
