Quiet Illness
I had a strange and VERY unproductive weekend. I managed to barely get the laundry done but I wasn't able to accomplish much else. I seemed to have gotten this strange bug that set me down a peg. It was like I woke up hung over both days after long sleeps. It didn't come on that strong the first day. It was a slow build. I was consciously hydrating all day to counteract Friday's dry day. But in the afternoon I noticed a headache coming on. I attributed it to lying around all day and went for a short walk to "blow the stink off" as my mother would put it. The walk, it did nothing. I had to take Tylenol to get to sleep over the roaring train that was smashing my brain. It was worse on Sunday. I didn't even get to groce! And I needed it bad, real bad. I am plum out of food, including plums. I don't usually have plums so that aspect is not unusual. I spent the day rolling around in agony, struggling to find a comfortable position then when it dissolved, moving to the next one. I watched some bad TV, the new Ghostbusters movie, and other general nonsense. It was very frustrating. I wanted to be out in the field. None of my guys were going so I wasn't missing much on a work front but I still felt the compulsion that I should be out there. I think that is either a sickness or an addiction, Cheese will decide. I would be remiss also if I didn't mention the throbbing success that Cheese succumbed to on the weekend. His troupe, Shut the Front Door Improv had their third annual All-Star show. This is when they bring in famous Canadian improvisers to perform with them at a larger venue. This is a big deal. He had Jonathon from Seed, Harold from Red Green Show, the girl from Mr Dee and the musicians who play all the Whose Line is it shows. All accounts have the evening as being a massive success. I guess they entertained their guests the evening before and that went well also, but the show itself was a huge deal. When you have to have sound check, you know it's pretty good. Congratulations to Cheese on his successful show. If you don't know what I'm talking about then shame on you for not listening to the podcast, Conversations with Cheese and the Tugboat, and also missing the vague references I've laced throughout the Musings. I'm still not sure if he wants me talking about his triumphs on here but he hasn't explicitly told me not to yet. Nor implicitly told me. So I'll wait for his determination both on my compulsion to work on weekends and also on my cross promotion of his pinnacle.
