Slow, Snowy Sunday

Well today has been slow. Doing some nonsense TV watching. Doing some reading. Overall not changing the world. I have no idea where the evening is going to take me but I do have a hankering to play some NHL15. Take a little walk down memory lane. It's blasting snow into my once clean driveway. Shoveling the driveway is another task that a couple of my neighbours really take seriously. They will be out there as soon as the snow slows down. They haven't broken out any snowblowers yet. I'm the only one to tread those waters to date. But they are out with their shovels to scrape it clean. I get it, if you get it right away then nothing gets packed in and you don't have to scrape violently later. If you keep it clean then you can have your concrete or asphalt exposed all winter and it lasts longer. Plus it looks nice. I don't subscribe to that school of thought. I let it build until I can clear it in one swoop. I don't have time to clean it twice a day. I don't have a huge driveway and my truck takes up most of it but it still takes me almost an hour to properly clean it. The same philosophy applies to lawns and cutting them. I am once every two weeks unless someone is coming over. My work lawns are weekly but I have minions to cut those for me. Lady next door is about every 5 days. She cuts it at the highest setting on the mower so it just trims the tops to be even. It would be like getting a haircut every two weeks. I'm generally monthly for mine, but I am currently ignoring that rule. We'll see how long I can go. Probably another week is my guess. Either way, the driveway was assaulted with snow and remains so. The truck is covered but at least now has fuel. I generally try and keep it full at home and clean and ready in case I have to bolt out of here in a hurry. For an emergency but more for the zombie apocalypse. Failure to plan and all that eh? Well I think I will get to that NHL now. I suspect it will be another early night for the Tugboat.
