Yo-Yo Saturday

So today was a bit of roller coaster. Day started off earlier than planned. I had stayed up late on Friday night watching Making a Murderer or whatever it's actually called. I started back in first thing in the morning. I enjoyed the first two or three but then I could guess the outcome and just watched it all to check the box. I eventually wrapped it up late afternoon. It was frustrating to watch. I'm glad I did, it will allow me to discuss it socially but overall it wasn't groundbreaking. I enjoyed Serial season one more. One take away is how awful the US DOJ can be when it comes to protecting their own. I'm sure there was several, "greater good" conversations that happened as that whole saga unfolded. Either way, I started things there, working through that program. Then I had to clean up a bit, mostly just myself and the driveway as Jacky Jonks was coming over to try on some clothes I was ridding myself of. He was able to find some nice additions for his wardrobe. The rest will be packaged up and donated as soon as I locate a drop box close to my house. We spent some time testing my old towers to see if his advanced computing know how could make them work. The verdict was fried motherboard, as I expected from previously hearing that. We had some laughs and I bid him adieu.

The downer part is now so if you don't want to be brought down then skip this paragraph. Shortly after Jack left, I got a call from my mother. She prefaced it by saying she had bad news in a shakey voice. I knew someone had passed away immediately. Who, however, was unexpected. It was her younger sister. She was found in a room she was renting. No details were released by police. I knew that aunt had had some significant issues over the last few years, both in terms of physical and mental health, so it wasn't a complete shock but it is very sad. I haven't had much contact with her over the years, having seen her last at Christmas 2014 when I dropped her off at the hospital after Christmas dinner. The news was a sad thing to hear unexpectedly.

After that news sunk in over the next couple of hours, I just watched part of the hockey game, read my book and will be going to bed early. Probably as soon as this is done. Which is now.
