Feckless Friday
The day started off rough. It was a late start and getting out of bed was excruciating. There was no shower and no breakfast. I started work ahead of eight. No update yet. Something unexpected happened to start the day. I got a call from a LDG in the US, we work close at this time of year. She gave me some feedback on how I was handling my colleague who does the customs paperwork. Apparently I was being hard on him. And adding his boss and coworkers only slowed things down. I’ll take that feedback. Generally I assume adding a boss generates action or garners support. Apparently the boss here is new to the role ans doesn’t understand and thus required an hour worth of questions to be answered to get up to speed. A waste of an hour. I didn’t know that, but will consider it for the future. We did come to the consensus that the guy in question is a bad communicator. Feedback I shared. Apparently he’s too nice to speak up so I initiated a candid conversation. For the rest of the morning he gave me regular updates. I was on a call with the customer looking for the seed when I got word we’d booked a truck and would be shipped and arrive Saturday. Everyone was happy. Here is a photo of my mood right after.
Lunch was more of the same. It was weird to break my fast on soup. Maybe it was just the day I was having. My call right after lunch disappeared which cleared the trail for that lunch. I had another short call afterwards to round meetings out for the day. Around four I went to the garage to listen to a podcast and work on the boat for a bit. I checked my phone frequently to be on top of last minute work items. I made some good progress, well over half done that side now. The machete is not working well for the in tight work I’m doing now, may need to find another tool.
I worked at that for an hour and then went back up to close out the week more officially and power down. I powered on my personal computer and started to handle my MSC challenges. As you can see, I made short work of them and finished another month off.
Dinner was two packages of Our Finest pad thai with chicken. Nothing fancy but that was what I had on the meal board. It made for a tasty and hearty little feed. Not much to report after dinner, I sparked up FS19. I matured a crop, harvested it and planted a fresh one. All my assets are paid for and I’m closing in on a million bucks I’m the bank and my bins are full of inventory to play the markets with. Success. It was around eleven when I clocked out of consciousness for the day.
