Teenage Wednesday
Today was a bad day. As I mentioned, I was planning to take the day off. There was a call that I forgot about as it wasn’t in my calendar, just in my email. Without showering or eating I jumped on my work computer at half eight to join the call, partially to be seen, partially because there were a couple topics I needed to know more about. Close on the heels of that call was our country engagement survey results call. The leadership reviewed the results and introduced their next plan to try and improve engagement, which is the new HR word for morale. Based on the Q&A, they’ve got work to do for some groups. It was an interesting call and some of what was discussed didn’t resonate with me. I’ll leave it there, cause frankly, it’s probably none of your business. When the dust settled it was nearly one. I was tired, frustrated, and in a bad place mentally. I switched computers and did my MSC challenges to some upbeat music. That didn’t really help me much so I started playing HomeScapes again. This is the game that has been problematic for me, that one that I accidentally racked up $50 of in-app purchases over a weekend.
I realized as I got up to two that I had eaten or drank anything all day. I ordered a meal from Pizza Pizza. Four pop, large pizza with ham, pineapple and bacon crumble, and ten chicken bites. I gorged. Then played more of that game while recovering. I was also listening to my current audiobook while playing. I didn’t know when it was recommended to me that it was D&D related, specifically to the campaign we’re in now. I also found out it isn’t a trilogy but rather 9 trilogies! Don’t think I’ll rip through all of those, at least not in a row. After fooling around for most of the afternoon I finished off the pizza and then trudged around in pain trying to walk it off. Next I cleaned up some piled up YouTube videos and then I spent some time getting into the right headspace for our D&D session. That took on the entire evening and it was awesome!
