Lethargic Monday

I woke up late as you’d expect from my late night of reading the night before. I did my whole morning routine but skipped breakfast to save time. I felt a lot more energized that I had any business feeling and got into work right away. We had our Monday morning meeting and enough had piled up during that that I had to take the next hour or so to clear the queue. I cruised into lunch with a bunch of small things crossed off the list and decided that I’d better make a good choice. I whipped up a salad kit and the last expired pizza buns that I’d purchased on discount over two weeks before. The key is to warm them up for a minute in the microwave. It was surprisingly filling and tasty.

The afternoon started off with a team meeting and nobody had anything firm behind it so we stretched it out for an extra half hour. It was the first time we got to interact as a unit without being incredibly rushed in a long time. That left a shorter window to prepare the task force meeting to close out the day. It was on the books for ninety minutes but we knew it would be closer to two hours. It was. I found myself struggling to stay awake to the point that I had to turn off my camera a few times to yawn and move around to keep myself in it. A colleague called right after to debrief and catch up from last week. That ran out the clock on the day. I wasn’t feeling incredibly inspired so I halved two cheese bagels, cooked four sausage rounds, warmed and buttered the bagels, layered in four cheese slices and had me a pair of samidges. Bagel bottom, cheese, sausage, cheese, sriracha ranch, sausage, and bagel top. Repeat. It was fast, filling and low effort. I dropped to the basement and played some NHL20, I’ve almost won the AHL title and the finals have begun in the NHL portion finally. My season is nearly complete. When I’d had my fill of that I returned to the top floor and watched a bit of YouTube before powering down for the night. I was actually asleep before 9pm, best guess is 8:46pm sleep start. I guess I was tired from the short night after all.
