Restock Day
It is amazing what a little motivation can do for you. I had a weak sleep but somehow that kick started me. Actually, I didn’t slow down that much from the previous day where the soup and poop combo really inspired my efforts. I was up somewhat late with the boys then I had some stress from something unrelated and didn’t sleep well. When I woke I knew I had to make a move on getting some food, I couldn’t keep imagining new things to eat. Truth be told, I had a number of staples left but was too lazy to actually make them, whoops. It seems to have come with the territory of not making traditional meals that include meat, starch and veg, usually half the plate veg. I had another errand that needed running too, I need to buy some bag tags from an approved vendor so I could start putting trash out again, the garage was getting a real funk to it from house too much garbage. With that little nugget down and the garbage on the curb I was able to focus on creating more, aka buying food. As you can see from the photo below, I had a relatively full cart again, it’s an illusion. While I was walking the more opened up aisles of Walmart, I happened upon some softener salt near the back of the store. I was back there to look at fishing stuff okay! I loaded three sacks into my cart because I hate being able to steer it. I will probably go back and get another three to be a round of salt ahead, the same practice I do with my furnace filter. I change that quarterly, one of the home maintenance items that I actually do.
You may have noticed the Just for Men in there too. I have a relatively red beard right now. I don’t like it. I’m going to do something about it. Maybe I’ll take some photos of the beard to commemorate it, since it’s likely a once in a lifetime effort. My beard plan is to trim it up, wash it clean and dye it closer to my actual hair colour which, according to me, is a medium brown. I am suspecting that when I trim it, it will drop down from being a beard back to being simply facial hair. The length gives it the appearance of being a real beard but it’s actually thin and gross when shorter. That has generally been why I haven’t partaken of a beard before, that and the spots where no hint of hair appears. Most crushing of those are the “connectors” that would allow me to grow a proper goatee or more importantly, a handlebar mustache. The things that my genes rob me of! So I’m thinking that I’ll take a run at that procedure this weekend and fingers crossed that I don’t foul it up and ruin months of effort with some errant snips.
Back to the day, after I washed and stored all the food I went after some work. I actually was able to close out a couple of big items, it will be official next week of course but it’s nice to move on to the next long term project. The next one started years before my time but I’m looking to loop, swoop, and pull it together into a tied off knot rather than the ugly loose end it has become. Lunch was delayed as I wanted to put in a full four hours of professional effort before I slid into my summer hours in the afternoon. I partook of a rare salad, something I’m looking to increase in frequency. I ruined it with a drumstick afterwards.
The rest of the day was spent doing as little of value as possible. I haven’t dabbled with Netflix in a couple of weeks, maybe allowing some new content to stack up. Instead I split my time between Battlefront II, C&C, YouTube, and NHL20. You guessed it, the lawn wasn’t touched. I’ve got about 4-5 things around the property that have accumulated now and I’m thinking that they will get dealth with over the course of the weekend. I have a longer term project that I should tackle too but I’m somewhat dreading. I need to replace the dryer vent on the outside of the house, all the vents on the old one have disappeared and I’m worried about mice and birds using it as a superhighway into my house. I’ve purchased a new vent cover and also a ‘critter’ cover to go over that. That will give me two lines of defense. I’ll have to drill into the brick for the latter. It is the caulking and the pipe connections that have me concerned because I’m unfamiliar with those aspects. I’ll have to do some research and purchase the ideal caulk for the job. Don’t be a pervert, I’m serious. Probably something silicon based. Dammit.
