Winning & Losing
Today was the first day back to work, back to the grind. All the problems I was hoping would magically disappear were hanging out waiting for me. They were straight kicking it in an imaginary waiting room. Old magazines, stiff chairs with stainless steel legs. Brown garbage cans with a steel rimmed circle on the side to toss the trash in, maybe an unused ash tray on top. They were just in there waiting it out for me to stumble back in and they erupted to meet me. The problems seemed genuinely pleased to see me. It was a bit overwhelming when I saw all the things that didn’t work. It was hard to even perform the simplest of tasks. I broke it apart and started working on smaller bits of it. Nothing improved. I even took it upon myself to drove to one of our facilities to snag some of the dedicated network WiFi to see if that would cure it. Still no. It’s going to be a tough sled until I get this beast back on the rails. On the bright side, the beard trimmer and clipper I ordered yesterday that was slated to be delivered on Saturday was sitting waiting for me on my doorstep. Practically a week early! I can’t wait to get this thing figured out and working to clean up my new found beard hobby.
The rest of the afternoon passed with minimal excitement. I gutted out my workday, managing to check a few things off my list after a decent lunch of Thai Chicken soup and a wrap of mostly lettuce, cheese and hot sauce. The next meal was dinner and it consisted of pogos. Only pogos, with mustard. I felt shockingly good after sinking a handful of those beautiful beasts. I played some BattleFront II in the basement and then it was time to slowly make my way to bed. I stalled by watching some YouTube before shutting it down. Lots of fun stuff on there.
