Running it Back
My time in the North had come to a close and it was time to make my way back to the Harbour. I initially went North to get the boat but it became apparent early on that those hopes were made to be dashed. Have you been wondering what was going on with the boat? I sure was! When I booked it with them way back on June 12 they were about a week and half out for bookings. The Big T dropped it off the next morning so it was there if they got some extra time. They didn’t. The mechanic Bill looked at it on June 23, on schedule. I called them in June 24 and was told I’d need a new stator. After learning what that is, how it works, how to test it and where to get it, I was told that Bill would call me as he had left for the day. Never heard from Bill. I called Friday and we chatted at 3pm. He is going to order the part and it will take a few hours to install it, consistent with my research. But that timeline means that I couldn’t haul it back. So it’s still up North and we’ll develop a scheme to get it to the Harbour.
The main shot of the day was spent driving. I chose a Saturday to travel because I anticipated lighter cottage traffic, I was rewarded by this choice. Before departing my parents combined to cook up a big breakfast. Bacon, eggs, perogies, all the good stuff. I also snapped a nice sunrise picture. The dog woke me up before it rose so might as well make apple juice when you get the chance right?
As usual, I drove straight through, no stops. Check that, I did stop at the Chef’s to drop off some items; his coolers and cold packs along with a chainsaw and aggregate screen. A short drive later and I was unloading at the Harbour. It wasn’t a half hour later I was playing C&C with Ronny Ronks. He moved quick. I was able to update the next chapters in Theodore Complete’s Space Bucket adventure so check those out in the Archive section. I was worried he was becoming a helicopter parent, let me know what you think in the comments!
