Bubbling

Today was a different day. A real blast from the past. I had a visitor in the house! It has been months since another human was in the Harbour. Maybe a year? I get visitors so infrequently nowadays. It is a far cry from the early days after I’d just moved in and everyone seemed to want to come for a visit. I generally see people out in the world or at their dwellings but that has all been off the table since the pandemic took hold. Most of my familiar human contact is through a screen. I see strangers when I groce, but otherwise I’m alone often. Hence why it was so exciting for me to get better internet and better be able to virtually hang with people I know. Anyways, enough of that thought, Two Glasses of Wine is now able to visit with her parents because of the province’s bubble policy. I was going to paste a copy of the official diagram here but it felt wrong to re-purpose that for my own game. Essentially it is like the Fab Five plan that phone companies used to employ, you choose the people and they are in your group for whatever that entailed. Now it is people you are allowed to see, while social distancing and there are ten spots rather than five. Cheese called me up yesterday and asked if I had room in my bubble, I did. I think it is about half full right now. Or half empty if you are a jerk. We were not six feet apart the whole time, case in point, we were more like three. We did wash our hands much more often. I left the door unlocked for him and he showed up early. I was still scrubbing the shower but he didn’t know that. He could hear the movie I had playing and the grunts of efforts. He bravely videoed as he approached the source of the noise, it is a funny video. I’d post it but it doesn’t allow that on this site. After having a laugh we sat in the living room and chatted while he played the NES Classic to amuse me. I made us a lunch.

Lunch was fun. It was neat to be able to serve someone. He requested the tots and pizza, a diversion from his usual fare. I had suggested ramen, green beans and chicken. Putting that out there before all the hater say I serve crap. We had some good discussion and got to hang out like the days of old. Towards the end of the visit, after Cheese had grown frustrated with Super C and moved on to Blades of Steel, I had to join a surprise Zoom adoption party for Dutchie and Admiral Bonesaw. Because they are adopting. Totally got them. Cheese left around the time the forty minutes of Zoom ran out. I decided the weather was too perfect to squander inside.

I saw out there and read my book for over an hour. I had to go in when my left eye started to burn with a sharp pain at a level more than I could bare. That happens sometimes and a I don’t like it. After that test period I got back to work. Finished washing my bed and rebuilding it. Did all the dishes in the dishwasher for annual test. Removed guest bathroom door and shaved some off the bottom to allow for smoother summertime operation. (I had a sweet video of this that I can’t post also) Diagnosed issue with auxiliary shower head in my en-suite bathroom. Cleaned the bathrooms and mirrors. Pretty productive day that I capped with two hours of Command & Conquer with two friends before bed. Delightful!
