Meeting Slog

It was wall to wall today people! Wall to wall!!! I used the first hour of my work day to settle affairs and work on outstanding items from the previous week then it was on. Before that, I woke up naturally and had a lovely shower and breakfast. I tried spreading some of that sriracha ranch sauce on my English muffin for my breakfast bullet but it didn’t have the impact I was hoping for. Back to it being on. Ripped through the weekly meeting we have every Monday morning then had a half hour to regroup and work on an action item that came up during the other meeting then dove right into a two customer meeting. It ended just in time for me to race down and partially warm up some of my smokey split pea soup leftovers. I accidentally didn’t get it too hot and it was much easier to wolf down. What’s the point of a soup strainer if you don’t have soup?! Next was a bi-weekly meeting that morphed into finishing that earlier task with a colleague. That ended in time for me to call FedEx for an update (no news, not good) before another two hour meeting. This one ran long. One section that was given twenty minutes was over forty five. That meant I had to present some of my bosses material that I was not prepared to cover. Ugh. I spent a half hour to clean up the emails that came in then the reward for a fast paced day. Recall that I had leftover chili. In anticipation of that, I purchased a small package of hot dogs in the last shop. You guessed it. I made terrible chili dogs.

I made two critical errors in the construction. Plain bread does not have the structural integrity to contain thin chili. I should have put them in the microwave together, the cheese wasted melted and the chili was lukewarm. In the end, it doesn’t really matter. I slammed them back without hesitation, hungry as a lonely boar. To work them off I went out and planted two more pots of flowers. I’m now at capacity and still have two plugs of petunias to plant. I’m not sure where I’ll squeeze them in. I also found two old pots that should have been tossed and filled them with old soil. They are very moist so I’ll let them calm down and then plant some seeds. I have some morning glory and lavender seeds to use up. I should have a nice little setup when it’s all said and done.
