Shipments

It was a wild day for deliveries. Not as much here but in general. I found out that seed I’m involved with actually did move last week and most importantly of all, the last of the seed was going out today. The two month waltz I’ve been dancing is getting down to the last few bars. I will be relieved and disappointed when it’s all over. Disappointed by how it went and relieved that I get to go again. Hopefully without a global pandemic gumming up the works. Next year will unfortunately be all new again as we have to switch systems. So that sucks. The more local delivery news is that my work tripod and wireless mic arrived today. The tripod says it is lightweight aluminum but it feels and looks an awful lot like plastic. I guess there is enough aluminum for them to make their claim. It does extend nicely and seems to work, I’ll have to get some type of anchor to ensure that any light breeze doesn’t topple it. The microphone works great. You plug part into the recording device and the other half goes with you. The range is better than I thought. The team I’ve been loosely on, and inspired these purchases, have been making and uploading videos they made when practicing with the gear. I figured I’d better comply, if a little late. It took me 3-4 mins to record and then in the evening I spent the time I’d use to post to edit the video for 40 mins. I setup two cameras and improv’d a script of about a minute and then made sure to switch active cameras. I had to cut and insert parts of the feed from each camera but I did it. I put a song under the monologue and added some stills as well. It is great software. Very simple to use overall. I was happy with the way it turned out and I’m excited to see how it works out as I start to create content for customers who can’t travel to tour sites. Update: the last bits of seed are moving, should be delivered Friday then it’s over.
