Thai Thursday

At the office, back before the word closed, a call went out for some office activities. Some small events that we could do together without affecting our productivity to help us get together as a team. As I’ve mentioned ten million times, we’re a relatively new organization. My idea, which I blatantly stole from our competition, was Thai Tuesday. This is a day where everyone wears a tie and we order Thai food for the office. That was my idea to have an excuse to get Thai food. Since I moved away from Guelph I haven’t been able to get good Thai food. It’s been literally years since I’ve had a good Thai meal. It was universally panned by the group at the office so I had to ferret out an alternative plan. Over those interim years I found a stop gap to scratch my Thai food itch. I’ve been buying cheap, microwaveable Indian food for lunches from Walmart for a few years successfully. Recently they’ve added a pad Thai option to their repertoire. I’ve been buying pairs of these and cooking up both and dumping them into a bowl to make a pile the size of what I used to get in the restaurant. I’ve been eating it with the chopsticks I bought in Beijing back in 2009. You can read about that in the archive section of this very site. It has been an excellent treat for me and even though it’s a little lower quality, I’m not going to stop getting after it. I actually enjoy it, despite recognizing that it’s not a good brand. It’s cheap.
