The Change-over
I wanted to sleep in again but work concerns found their way into my brain and I was roused from my rest. I tossed and turned some more before clambering out of bed and starting to hustle. I booked an appointment to get the truck serviced up and my winter tires installed. The waiting room was open this round so I didn’t have to sit outside in the cold. I had to scramble to carry the tires out of the shed and get them tied down into the truck. I used a beautiful new strap to do it. Can confirm they work amazingly. I grabbed McBreakfast on the way and realized that I could show up with food so I pulled into TSC to use their parking lot for a few minutes. I dropped the truck and took a seat in the waiting room, heavily sanitizing and avoided contact with anything. I enjoyed some podcasts for a little over an hour and then was ready to go. It was quick, painless and they had excellent protocols in place. I was home by ten. So I turned on my work computer and started cleaning up emails. I jumped on a call with my Licensing colleagues and then worked away on a few time sensitive things before going to crush some lunch. I had a meatball and mozzarella Stouffer’s bistro panini, I love the convenience! After lunch I went back up and turned on my personal computer and enjoyed some MSC challenges. At three I used Teams on my phone to jump on a call just to listen in and continue my games. I transitioned to online shopping after the call and eventually I got a FaceTime from the young prince and chatted with those lads. I started dinner towards the end of that call. I had Great Value Hawaiian pizza with a bit of extra cheese on it, finished with some Cholula to clash with the sweetness of the pineapple. As it was cooking I had thoughts of revulsion from the scent. My brain was telling me not to eat these empty calories. That is incredibly rare but I’m taking it as a good sign. I celebrated by laying out several Viva Puffs to enjoy later.
After this filling dinner I descended and fired up my system. I was thinking I’d watch Money Heist some more. But right there at the front of Netflix was the new season of Archer, season 11. My evening plans were suddenly set. There were only eight 22 minutes episodes. They didn’t stand a chance. After inhaling the whole season in one quick sitting I marched straight to bed where I’d struggle for an hour to pass out. I’d say it was a partially successful day off.
