Way of the Road

I made up to the top of my world. I left early in the morning after careful preparations were made prior. I was able to get everything that needed to be in the cab of the truck up there. I did have to put some beer in the back. This would prove to be a problem as the beer was partially frozen when I arrived home. I shared one with my father, and he didn't care for it. Those micro-brew beers don't really translate well to the bottle in my experience. The drive itself wasn't too bad. My ailing back hasn't been much of an issue in recent weeks and the conditions were as good as could be hoped for. Bare, dry roads the entire way up. I did make a stop in the Bay to have lunch with the Booj. I was going to call Sexy Bitch to come too but forgot about it halfway up. Turns out that was a good thing as they had just had their second child the night before. Pretty crazy, the child was born a couple of weeks early. All was well, the child being quite large. I will touch base with him later when his life isn't as hectic as I'm sure it is currently. I do feel like I forgot something else too. Probably forgot to change a timer or turn a light off. I guess I'll find out when I return. This will be my longest foray away from home, maybe since I moved in. I suspect I'll be glad to be home when the time comes. For now though, I'm going to play with my parent's new dog, Titi and basically take it easy for a few days. I have some gifts to wrap and such but I don't have much of a social calendar up here this year, most people not coming home anymore. Maybe a sign of the times, maybe I'm not concerned. I'm just looking to unplug from the world in general and enjoy some much deserved time off.
