Secrets are Lies
I mentioned that I got a big secret out of me at the end of last week, that being Cheese's surprise party. Oh you didn't know?! Spoilers! You'll have to roll down and find it, I'm sure it's here somewhere, keep going yes, keep rolling, just a little further, oh. You want to wait until you're done reading this fast paced post? Sure, that's allowed. Anyways, I'm still harbouring a couple of secrets within and I'll be glad when I can release them. They sort of have me on edge, maybe like I'm waiting for them to come out and can't really live normally until they do. I think this week should mark the end of that. Then maybe I can go about my business. Currently I'm not 100% sure what to do with myself. I did my summaries "right" the first time this year and only had three of them to cover off. Normally I'd be scrambling in this week to implement all the changes asked for by our teams who got a preview of them already. Not the case this year, makes me wonder if I got better at doing them or if people just don't care anymore. I guess we'll find out. Speaking of change and forward direction (he NEVER mentioned that!) last night on the old NetFlix, I watched the Circle. It was an interesting tale of technological advances opening up the world but pointing out that there were always some group running it all that could manipulate things. It went faster than I would have liked. I think they could have milked that out a bit more, it zipped through the middle. There was a bit of a cast and I have to assume it was one of the last films Bill Paxton ever made. I enjoyed it, it made me think while also being entertaining. The protagonists were being idealistic in their quest to reduce crime and make people be their best self but there was always a bit of uncertainty around where the limit of transparency lay. It sparks a good debate as more and more, people are living their lives online. Posting way too much to social media. Begging for attention. Where does that stop? Anonymity is dangerous and cruel on the internet so how can we fix that, should we? I'm only one man and I lack the answers, perspective and time to solve issues like that but what do you think about it?
