So ends our business day
That's it! Work is done for 2017! I'm out! I officially started holidays after Friday. Probably just ahead of the Christmas party. It was a pretty calm affair, nothing like the film of a similar name. Probably because Olivia Munn wasn't there to really get things cracking. It was a smaller group at a nicer hotel. We had dinner and then divided into teams and played four different board games in a round robin style event so everyone had to participate. Old school fun. I held my own at crokinole, I survived euchre, I crushed Wii bowling and I participated in the puzzle. I was bad at that one actually. But it was last and I'd consumed a good amount of beer by then. Either way, it was a nice evening to laugh and blow off steam with our co-workers. I was able to secure a ride home afterwards and found myself at work in the morning. I'd languished in bed for a few hours and felt I needed something to get me going. Before I knew it, I was in the truck heading to the farm. I had to drop some stuff off that was in my garage and to pick up some empty beer bottles that we'd accumulated over the summer from various events and long day beers. Then I found myself shovelling and trying to re-arrange equipment. I made myself go home at noon. Then I proceeded to squander the rest of the day in spectacular fashion. I don't even know what transpired. I had to kill time to get to bed time towards the end. I was tired and bored by 10pm. The next morning I made myself a very deliberate re-imagining of the previous Sunday's breakfast. It was luscious. Hours of Netflix followed. I don't think I got the chill part quite right but I did enjoy doing nothing all day. The Chef and She popped round to pick up their bunnies and we stepped out for a quick meal at a local chain. I picked up the tab to pay back for Thursday's meal. The rest of the evening was spent watching movies that I'd bought on iTunes and completely forgot about. Slammin' Salmon was a string of cheap laughs that made me feel some nostalgia for a simpler time. I also started to ask myself if Broken Lizard is actually good. I agreed with earlier assessments that I do indeed enjoy their work. I hope they get things going again. So yeah, that's the weekend.
