The Return
Has it been a month since last I dropped in here? Where have I been, what have I done, what am I thinking, am I think about you? I might go back and fill in some things at some point but right now I'm just looking to get back to my regularity of posting. I said of posting. Things have dropped off in recent months, I admittedly got out of the routine. My motivation slipped too having only myself viewing the site on a daily basis. But that's not that point of this exercise. It's an online journal for me to dump interesting thoughts from time to time, sheltered by inane details of my life. I'm still waiting for Cheese to write his book reviews, there I called him out too. He's been enjoying life these past weeks and I'm excited to hear his tales from the other side of the planet. I have had the odd urge to jump on here a few times, there are some topics I was going to rant about but decided that they might make better podcast discussions or just wild concepts I personally lament in my own way. Things like how social media might have given a voice to the idiots and charlatans. I'm not sure, that one needs some poignancy and development. The Estimator and I opened a can of worms one October night too about political correctness but in full disclosure we were too drunk to do it justice. Maybe someday we can flesh that one out a bit more. I could probably tie in some link to how things in this world have abandoned the practical, we don't JUST have to survive anymore. These are all themes of newer programs on television too. Or at least watching the shows sparked these ideas in me. Another one is around how AI could destroy the need for humans on the planet, not a new thing here at theTugboat.ca but it isn't going away anytime soon. Those are just something that are flowing through my mind today as I sit in my home office working away. (I'm taking a cigarette break currently.) <- That is a whole other topic, knowingly damaging yourself for temporary pleasure. I hope Cheese reads this and gets inspired to do some Conversations. We do need to do our annual New Year episode still. Hopefully we can carve out some time in the coming weeks before life swells up again and robs us of all the free time that technology carves out for us.
