The Day Off
I finally did it! I got a day off. I did go to work twice though during the course of the day. Once to work, but just a little, at spraying some stuff and then again later with Cheese to show him where I spend all my time. It made me realize how shabby the site is looking since we've been running around planting. As things begin to slow down I'm going to have to get things in order. But the day off. It's funny how all your personal life gets saved up for a day off then when it comes you just want to lounge around and look at the sky. But you have all these things to do, work on your PVR, post on your website, try to find a way to learn what happened on Game of Thrones last week, cut the lawn, laundry, wash the bedding, etc. I got through some of those things but I can never seem to clean the slate. I still want to put in gates on my fence, get a contractor in to do my back splash (perfectly), and top to bottom clean my house. I think I'll have to take a week off in June or July and start to tackle all these projects. If anyone has expertise they can certainly do things for me in lieu of gifts. Speaking of big projects, Brown and She moved into their new house this weekend. It's over a hundred years old and has seen all kinds of previous work. They will have their hands full in the coming years working on that place and making it their own. It is an exciting time for them. In their typical style they have taken on a big project together but I'm confident they will make that place their own. I was overwhelmed myself looking at the amount of work, but that is mostly because I have lost all confidence in my ability to properly finish a home renovation project, hence the back splash issue. Apparently I can't even finish cutting the lawn. I did try twice in the last week to tame the beast but the mower isn't starting. I'm going to have to turn it over to my kid to fix, he's quite handy like that. The Gerbs can repair almost anything if I give him enough money and time. Time is on short supply these days and money is even shorter. That is probably why one of our competitors has made an offer to purchase our company. The news is public and the offer is $62 billion. I'm not sure what is going to happen. For the past few months people have been let go at an alarming rate as the company tries to satisfy shareholders with higher profits. The company has transformed as they tell us, into something that can be bought it would appear. I don't know what is going on anymore and can only focus on the tasks at hand. In effect I'm too busy to worry about the future right now, even on my day off.
