The retired life continued for me, I rose before the sun and almost anyone else. My bedroom is a neat little makeshift room. It is a glorified futon that has been supplemented with gel pads and foam to make it very comfortable. The walls are cloth, drapes that can be drawn when I am ready to retire for the evening. They are actually quite good at enclosing my quarters. The temperature at night is perfect for sleeping as much as the daytime is also perfect. It is right in my sweet spot of 18-24C. Best weather I've seen in months. So we sought to take advantage by venturing out on this day. We started fairly early with some yard sale shopping in the trailer park. We hit up the community centre and per used the vast quantity of merchandise. Some purchases were made but nothing earth shattering. Next we came back to the ranch and regrouped before trekking out. They wanted me to take a look at some clearance racks. We visited a nice Wal-mart in Tradition, springtime home of the Mets. Then we split up and I explored Beall's and AC Moore's and finally Stein Mart. All in the name of finding some nice shorts. Incidentally I found two solid pairs at Steinmart. I didn't get a raging deal as was expected but they fit great and that is what matters. We had lunch and got back around 3pm. Then it was time to load up to attend the annual seafood festival at the town civic centre. This was an event akin to rib fest in Canada. Multiple vendors and foodtrucks lined perimeter of the grassed area and there was also a stage with live music. We checked out all the wares and settled down to listen to the band. The Relayers were adequate, their guitar player was exceptional and the rest of the gang was passable, the singer had her moments. When they took a break we acted on our previous thoughts for dinner. I had a sumptuous 'wicked' scallop roll that was made fresh while I watched. It was amazingly tasty. All who dined from that truck walked away satisfied. We shuffled back home and had a couple of drinks, played cards and watched CNN for the evening while catching up with our online avatars. We tried to stay up to catch Trumpsters speech but he held off too late by ten all the lights were out for the night. I should mention that the cocktail of choice on Friday was Dirty Monkies, a perfect recipe and execution of them I might add. Very tasty, I should learn to make them, for the betterment of my readership. Day two was just as delightful as day one.
