Back to Work

Back to work, back to work to show to the world that I'm not a crook! Sing that like Billy Madison would sing about going back to school to prove to daddy that he's not a fool. Which he fully is. I'm really typing fast today for some reason. I don't get why but my keystrokes are fast and accurate. I'm probably nearing my top speed of thirty words per minute. I worked hard in the old keyboarding class to achieve that. Most of the time you wait until the teacher turns her back and then try to peak through the small slots that allow you to see through the cover to the F and J keys so you can get set on the home row. I wonder if kids still learn that way. It was cruel and unusual punishment to let an almost fully formed brain learn that in grade nine. Now I might be dating myself with that reveal but we had very old and disturbing computers when I was in the previous level of schooling. The big track ball machines, the ones that when you are playing a game you wail on the ball and spin it madly. It was a lot of fun and a nice memory to share with anyone from the older generation. Most of that generation works for a living now so I'll talk about that for a second. That was a clunky segue, but it works. I came back from my vacation and had a mountain of emails to sort through. I got that done with relative ease and very few followups. A surprisingly low number of followups actually. I have been flying without a formal to-do list and I'm finding that troubling. There are a lot of moving parts that need to be addressed in the early going of my triumphant return to the saddle. By the end of the next week I should have most things sorted and wrapped up, leaving me with a more personal problem. I have to decide if I'm going North for Easter. There will be a good sized glut of family up there this year and I probably should go but I'm busy here and I don't relish making that drive up there alone both ways. I have been knocking on phones to see if anyone else is going up that would like to accompany me but so far I haven't had a sniff of interest. Well, I just asked Cheese and he's going elsewhere so I guess no interest at all to date. I think my Mom really wants me to go but I can't figure out why. I'd be the only kid of her brood to make it. The others live far or work from what I understand. I have another few days to make a move. Then I have to drop the verdict. In other news, Ron and I should be able to commence the big build on Friday night. That will be an exciting experience. I'm looking forward to moving onto the big machine. My next waste of money will be on video software to edit together the little videos I like to make from time to time. Stupid phone only does .MOV and Windows dislikes that. I guess the research can begin. Weren't you supposed to hire someone to work on the back-splash and basement? Shut up you!
