Final Full Shot

Today was the last full day of my Florida foray. The finish is finally filling my field of vision. I fly out tomorrow at midday so that will eat most of the morning hours up. I have already mostly packed my bag up and layed out my clothes for tomorrow. The end is nigh. But that only meant that I would try to make today as successful as possible. I got up early again and had my same walk, somehow it was two hundred steps less than the previous day. I guess I was more jazzed up and took longer strides. I started earlier as well, I was on the move before the paper lady went around. It was a little humid and a good amount of warm for the duration. I got back and made my breakfast and cleaned it up then I went and washed my out of control hair, packed a bag and was ready to depart a good hour before necessary. I lubed up with sunscreen to avoid any unsightly burns. We headed south on the 'Fed' after the usual fanfare of loading a full car. We went all the way down to Blowing Rocks Nature Preserve on Jupiter Island. There was an altercation of warnings with a cop and some locals who had been circling the parking area. The cop threatened to ban them from a year of they did that again. Somehow when I man has a gun, you listen. We paid our donation and headed over the hill. The other side was an energy and beauty I hadn't yet seen on the trip. The water came in at high tide and collided with the rocks in such a manner that often a plume of surf would rocket toward the heavens. It was remarkable. I went about fifty feet and popped a squat. I had to watch the theatrical performance that Mother Nature was putting on. I stayed rooted there for over an hour by myself while the others explored the rest of the beach before joining me. When they'd have enough we headed back to check out the lagoon and the river. We got separated and they worried but I was just walking s path through the swamp, no big deal. We left the preserve shortly after our reunion and sought out some fancy homes on the island. It is the home of both Tiger Woods and Greg Norman. We saw their estates. Apparently between the two of them, they use more water than anyone else in Florida combined somehow. This according to the Internet. They are among the top water users on the entire USA. So we saw their nice homes among the many others. It was a beautiful area. We grabbed a bite at McDs on the return trip. I tried to nap when I got back but it didn't take so I set out to drink all the rest of the beers in the fridge. It was a successful mission aided by the Mayor who took down four with me. We played a rare outdoor, pre-dinner match of Paddy. The First Lady won, and will likely run her mouth until the next game tomorrow. I won't be around to see it but I'm sure she'll get knocked off her perch. We had a great home cooked dinner and spent the evening in silent contemplation. Later we tried to watch the Northern Ontario men's curling team. No luck, so an early night all the way around. Which is ideal before a long day of traveling tomorrow.
