Professional News!

I'm going to be selfish with this post. I'm just going to focus on something that happened in my world. You won't know about it. You likely won't understand the monumental implications that my news carries. You won't care in the least probably. But rest assured readers, this is big news with far reaching implications. Early this morning we received news that our latest and greatest soybean biotech trait finally received regulatory approvals from the land of China. We started working with this technology in 2008 and have been rigourously and aggressively testing it since. We've developed full sale-able varieties, tested every question we could think of and then a bunch from academics, retails, and customers too. It was all done under stewardship or confinement. It was so much extra work. Every year there were giant hoops to jump through. Not the cool kind you are imagining with giant rings of fire that we jump our tractors through off sweet jumps. No the kind that involves isolation and loads of paperwork...just in case. The worst kind. Well all that is going to be in the past for this researcher. Now that Roundup Ready Xtend Cropping System is fully commercial in this great nation we can operate with relative ease. The farmers have been salivating for this technology for three years and finally we can turn it loose for them to use. Again, you won't give much of a hoot about this but with GR weeds becoming a reality in our geography, this is a key tool for the toolbox to tackle the issue. I was giddy prit near all dang mornin'.

In other news, after work I spun up to Cheese's and we laid down a sweet Conversation. You can find it under Episode 45 in the Conversations library. It's a strange format for our regular listener. As if we actually have any of those left. But it was fun and you will enjoy it. I should be hammered drunk currently celebrating our massive win but instead I'm here at the keyboard sharing it all with you imaginary internet hordes. Well some of you are real people that I know from life. The rest, well, you cool.
