Afternoon Hijinx
As promised in my last post, there were hijinx. Originally, I had made plans with Brown and She, mostly with Brown and She was also available to join us, to buy pots and pans, have lunch and watch the football game. He's super into sports again. I guess his departure from a part of his life opened up space for something new. He is has been going to live sporting events and afterwards he is a fan of that team, often aggressively so. This has expanded his interest across sports and resulted in the purchase of many expensive jerseys. He doesn't go halfway on things. But yes, their unique timetable meant that they would be along later in the day. I bought the pots and pans on my own, making it all the more sad (noted!) and had my own lunch. Also, I really have to stop buying chips, they barely last the day. In the interim, I got notice from Cheese and Two Glasses of Wine that they would be passing by from their visit with the angry dwarfs. So I would have a full living room at the Harbour on this day. Brown and She were first to arrive and they had pumpkins in tow. Carving pumpkins with them has become a three tradition that this year looked like it might fall by the wayside. It would appear as if it was rescued from the coals in the nick of time. I anticipate working through the shelling out period so having a pumpkin would become unnecessary for me but I put in the effort nonetheless. I'll likely retroactively add photos to this post if I ever get them. So we sat and watched football and caught up. I took my place on the floor to free up seats and we four had several hearty laughs. Cheese expressed interest in returning to the podcasting, we've been beyond negligent lately and have to clean that up in the near future. We've both had minor shifts in our jobs that make things difficult but stay tuned for more. My guests left in pairs, as you'd expect and by Walking Dead time I was alone, fed and ready to be absorbed in the world of my favourite show. I wish I could read the comics online again, they seemed to have disappeared. Unfortunate. I'd accept help on finding them again. So yes, I suppose there were less hijinx than I let on, I guess Brown did start carving his pumpkin with the hatchet, a feat that I fully did in the past. I've also used my large Bowie knife. Simple but effective.
