Time Fly Thursday

I'm back in the saddle and it doesn't seem like the next day. I put my theory from the previous post to the test last night and today. It would appear to be frighteningly accurate. If you aren't hip to the deets I suggest you stop in your tracks and check out the previous post. If you know to which I am referring then by all means, continue on with me. The only painstakingly drawn out moment in the past 36 hours is when I got a dollop of Bangkok Padang peanut sauce in my eye. It burns, there is some kick to that sauce. I made chicken wings doused in it. The sauce is not meant for that, especially if you are baking the wings. But it was a tasty repast nonetheless. But besides the sustenance I have partaken of, which has all been above average for me, I did manage to enjoy myself. Last night I found myself in a familiar city with some familiar faces in a familiar restaurant. We had some food, some drink, and some laughs. It was great to catch up. I went to bed earlier than most twelve year olds and had a long, deep sleep. It was fairly refreshing. Today was a blur as I started in an office in one city and ended in a field near another with many stops in between.

Two of the stops harken back to Episode 24 of Conversations. I went to the dentist and got my teeth cleaned and polished. Going to the dentist is much different than even a few years ago. There is no dread or concern about cavities as there was in days gone by. I guess I'm past that stage of my life where there is such worry, or I have a good run of filling free visits. I topped this personal improvement endeavour by getting my top trimmed. I found myself in a chair surrounded by truck driver's wives with short arms and protruding guts. The smell of cigarette lingered in the air from both patron and employee alike but these ladies know how to get hair cut and customers out the door. Within fifteen minutes my attempts at small talk and overall personal space invasion had been wrapped up cleanly leading to a healthy tip from my wallet. The cut itself is nothing to sneeze at but this dreaded chore is done for another 4-5 weeks. Generally, I waffle between shaving my head or just growing my hair long and weird. I would have a natural mullet at this point with the thinning that occurred in my mid-twenties. But in the flavour of being my best self, I continue to get the same haircut that I've been getting since I was eight year old. What have you done lately?
