Early Wednesday Times

I am back again and it is morning. I awoke all through the night and settled on six as an appropriate time to actually rise. I was ready to leave too soon for what awaits me so I decided to just take a minute to send some thoughts into the ether. I mentioned time so I will openly pontificate on that subject for a moment.

Ever notice that time seems to fly when you are doing something enjoyable or things are going well? And it drags on relentlessly when what you are doing is unpleasant or reprehensible? If you just shouted YES in the middle of a crowded office space, you better check your inhibitions, you might be drunk or an exhibitionist, in either case, probably need to dial it down a few notches. Otherwise, that is a strange and unfortunate aspect of our perception. For me there is the added bonus that I am more likely to seek out a harmful snack when my body perceives that it is bored so I have to keep myself busy or mentally engaged to avoid that impulse. It is easy to do nowadays, unlike my youth when I literally had to make my own fun. My fort building skills were sharp as the fine metallic point of a government mandated razor wire fence coil strung out over the daunting fence of a maximum security prison back then.

i guess the thought today, the ideal to strive for, the moral of the story is to make sure you slow your role in those occasions where time is flying, to stop and take a moment to appreciate the happenings around you. It is important to be cognizant of when things are going good and to cherish them rather than wait until they are bad to miss them. Take the time to smell the roses as they say. I am realizing now that my youth is fleeting that this expression does actually carry some weight and find myself lamenting the days gone by from time. Then I rise from slumber this day to watch the sun rise and realize that it is a beautiful day and that in few short months it will be winter again and the beauty will be muted by bitter cold and inhospitable conditions and the worst, shoveling the driveway. I am going to cherish these good times and I suspect you should be doing the same. So have a good day, and enjoy it.
