Whacky Weather Wednesday
Overnight it sprinkled some rain down from the heavens on my little world like a fine cumin dust on an exquisitely prepared roasted turkey drumstick. This lead me to rally the troops. I haven't mentioned too much about work but we had one large off-site trial location twisting in the wind, waiting to be put out of its misery. It is going into some very sandy, powdery dirt si moisture is a concern. With the smattering we got and some more potentially coming over the horizon I made my call. We got down there and mashed our trials into the ground and then went ahead and planted some strips to help out a colleague. This marked the end of our official planting season. We loaded all our gear and embarked for home. And not s moment too soon as the heavens opened and drizzled some magic down upon us. It was a minor shower, not much of anything but it nearly doubled our monthly accumulation by adding 0.16" to the total. It has been dry, real dry! It feels good to be done, we are doing some timeline work through the summer and will plant every couple of weeks for this but the main sites are in the ground. Next up is planting some grass, the most important crop. I am excited for the next stage.
