The Race is On, Again
Yesterday, as I mentioned, we had a big day. We were planting soybeans at the farm. Today we continue this off site. I feel like the proverbial hamster on a wheel. We just went though this stressful and rushed planting season of a couple of weeks to get all the corn in the ground. That got done. Now we're doing it again for soybeans. Before that was the seed rodeo and taming the beast that is getting research seed organized. Next it will be getting everything staked and prettied up. Planting grass around demo sites. Signing plots for marketing and touring purposes. Spraying things to keeps the weeds at bay to allow the crop the chance to thrive. It's a never ending cycle. Thankfully, the weather is playing along a little better than the last two years. In this area at least. In Manitoba it snowed over the weekend and was quite nippy. In the North of this province they received an accumulation last night. Mother Nature must be a little tipsy from New Year's still. Maybe she can't handle her liquor. I don't know, I guess that's why they stopped saying Global Warming and started calling it Climate Change. I could go a bit more on that, not from a "is it happening" standpoint but more as an excuse to berate our provincial government. I don't have the time or the gumption to open that can of worms so we'll leave it on the shelf for now. Leave it to sit and stew for the time being, hoping that it won't explode or boil over, causing a huge mess all over the new carpet. A rug that ties the room together. Keep those fingers crossed with me now. We're going to need all the hopes and wishes we can get. That's the way I see it.
