The Excursion

Wow! My biggest absence. I hope you hung around to savour some more of my flavour. Just keep coming back for a taste now ya hear! I have a good reason for being away from my duties for a few days. Well, I have A reason. I wasn't home! I left Sunday morning and went our nation's capital as I may or may not have mentioned previously. I don't recall and will not make the minor effort to look it up. Call me out on it if you have to, he goaded half halfheartedly. Anyways, Ottawa. I drove there in 5 hours flat, which is impressive in its own right, to spend some secretive time there. Well not that secretive, I think a good number of my readers know why so I can toss it out there. I was over there for a job interview. Same company but a management, leader position. The interview went alright, nothing fancy. It was a good experience for me and I still have an outside shot at securing the position. I will go if called upon but I'm not overly worried about that eventuality. What I would prefer to share was that I ate three Mexican themed meals while I was there. I stayed with Admiral Bonesaw and his wife Dutchie. The Hawk lives there too so it was a nice little gathering. We went for a walk upon my arrival, I got all the steps for the FitBit. We followed that up with dinner prep and the Sens abomination. Dutchie was heart broken as she cheers for that pack of whatever you want to ad lib there. An early night and morning followed. I slammed shut the door on some nagging projects that had been added to my plate like a side of coleslaw at a truck-stop that has been out for too long before it got to you. I did what I could with them and passed them back to the requesters. It was a good feeling. Watched Game of Thrones as a team then I splintered off to bed to prepare. I didn't slumber until an hour later than anticipated and awoke with the sun, the price of not closing the blinds. Then I did the 1 and 3/4 hour interview and promptly left town. I stopped in Guelph on the way home to share a meal with friends and pick up some seed that came to the office there before sliding home. I did a quick bike ride for twenty minutes to make sure my legs still work and go the mail. No cheque from the tax man. Someone is going to hear about it in the morning! Big time!
