This post is cheating with the date. Its not actually the 31st but in my mind it is. If you have a qualm with that then you can eat a toad. (What?!?) Anyways, we just ventured into the Great White North for the weekend. It was an excellent time. I think it was so fun due in large part to the fact that we didn't have to perform any slave labour. For the first time probably ever I got to see all the people that I had planned to see. You know who you are. I also ventured into the den of the sister's Reid when I was there. It was good to see them as I hadn't heard much in the past year. We did it all too whilst we were there. I got to finally see the Muir ranch and the Bruiser's cottage. Two landmarks that had eluded me all these years. Another goal that I accomplished was going to Sam's. It was scary and the rumours are true. It was a good time though. On a more somber note I also had the time to visit my grandfather's grave for the first time since the funeral. That was quite strange. I drove around a bit too. I took the company truck up for my one trip home that I was allowed for this summer. It was a good ride both ways, the crazy cottage traffic didn't slow us down too much. We made many stops on the way back and picked up and dropped off some people. Not hitchhikers mind you but planned personal exchanges. We all had a good time even if I didn't get to see much of my sisters. (They sleep like 14 hours a day.) I discovered that a cultish following is rising up around these postings. One reader even went as far to say, "Chase Phillip's postings are by far the hottest thing on the Internet since the Spice Girls launched a website." That was Wade Jarvis' opinion. If you have a sentiment about the content of this site then don't hesitate to let me know. I can't think of much more to say over the rumbling of my empty stomach. It wants to eat. The time is now.

Well, let's give this another shot here. We're deeper into the cold dark night now and maybe things are a bit more settled in my brain. Now that I've gotten my cyber bearings (I'm kicking my own butt for writing that) I'm feeling a bit more at home with this so-called internet. Before I forget I'd like to tell a funny story. Today, whilst Brown and I were making way for his new bed (below) we decided that his desk needed to be moved. Its an old relic from a simpler time when desks needed no sturdiness. It's a huge top and hutch that are precariously balanced on three pieces of chip board. We thought we could save time by moving it sans cleaning it off. Bad idea. He has a bunch of stone figurines and statues piled all over the monstrosity so this was a stupid move from the get go. We tried to lift and slide it across the floor, caught the register and that was the beginning of the end. One of the "legs" became angled. As we tried desperately to hold the thing level as the "legs" collapsed inward onto our insteps and shins Brown began to lose his balance. In doing so he caused the top to shift and a huge stone statue (weighing close to 30 pounds) fell and hit him square between the eyes. He claims that he blacked out but I managed to yell loud enough for him to right the desk and save and more damage and/or injury. When he slipped my finger got wedged between the top and the one remaining leg. My finger was severed at the knuckle and sliced clean off. I'm only kidding, I did get a few cuts on the knuckles though. Really, how could it be a funny story if my finger was cut off. You people are so dramatic.
I'm trying to get back into the swing of posting (note the lack of the term blogging). I've been reading other posts and even my old ones to try and re-capture the genius. Times are tough though and no genius has been recovered. Maybe the magic will return tomorrow. Here's hoping....

Ok, it happened, Bell finally came out of its castle and hooked up our internet today. After first telling us that they were going to hook us up on the 4th they dragged their collective feet until today. On a potentially unrelated note, I made a threatening phone call to Bell yesterday. Hmmm. Coincidence. Probably, it was one of many that I made to them. Either way its good to be back. Today was also exciting with thunder storms and also the purchase of a bed. The bed was not for me but for my room mate Brown. He got it at Ikea, it is the Stolmen bed. We assembled it already. I'm too overwhelmed to post much now. I'll try again later.
