Captain Planet....he's our hero! Gon-na take pollution down to zero. Anyways I spent the weekend downtown Big Smoke at my cousin's. It was good times. We went to a BBQ in the "'shwa" as some dude told us it was known. Got to see our cousin's house, it was huge and awesome. Apartments downtown, penthouses. We did it all. Good times were had by all. There was a brief truck related drama when I got back but it got resolved. Other than that we all had a good weekend. Brown and Laura went up north for the weekend so our home stood empty and triumphant. This going to be a short one cause I'm tired and lazy. Oh the bar we went to was called Madison's. It was interesting, we got to meet Jamie Campbell. Look him up if you don't know who he is. I'll give you a hint, he's the voice of the Blue Jays on TV. Ok well I'm tired, heading to sleep. Minimal sleep does that I suppose.  Look for an upcoming announcement via email too. That goes for all my readers. You know who you are.

The summer is winding down. I'm starting to get excited for the return of school but not for myself. Dave's brother and my cousin is coming to school here. It is going to be a good time. They move in on the 4th ish. One of the friends who is still in high school, young Buhold, will be staying with us for the frosh week so he can send off his mates in a proper fashion. We're all looking forward to it.

Work is winding down too. We're just putting in time for the most part now. We do odd jobs and get stuff ready for next year. I've winterized the planters and few other things already. I didn't do that until November last year. Just goes to show how things are progressing this time around. The harvest is just around the corner as well. I'm kind of glad I'll be out before that. It is a stressful time.

I bought a new printer today. It is awesome. That is all.

It's Sunday in the am, I'm at my computer. Moving on.....my birthday was uneventful and enjoyable. My roommates asked me the night before what I wanted to eat and I couldn't come up with anything so they told me to name my top three meals. I was in a dumb mood so I said 1)walrus 2)pizza pockets, a whole damn plate 3)a chicken sandwich from Burger King. I got it all except the walrus; which I'm still waiting for. A few people came over for ice cream cake and chit chat. After all that food I was ready to lay out for a while so it all worked out good. Annie and her brothers came as Annie was writing her MCATS this weekend. Her brothers went to Niagara Falls the first night and stayed at the casino. It was her brother Bob's birthday too....the 19er. Alcohol was assumedly consumed. Regardless, it was a good time for all. The next day Annie was off to write her test for 10 hours and the rest of us just laughed it up for the day. Her brothers got back at 6ish, Brown worked until 10 so we went out for eats. After a brief drinking foray we went downtown to some bars. The night ended around 2. Once again good times had by all, or at least most. Today I have to solve the issue of my printer's lack of colour and I may download iTunes. I hear good things, investigations have begun. Alas I will delve further into its lore.

In other news I finally got the June 2005 archive to work so everyone can see what happened in that month.

Yup, its that time of year again. The time when I am supposed to celebrate my birth; as if that isn't narcissistic and egomaniacal in itself, is upon us and I just can't bring myself to see the purpose. I can understand why it is that we are given gifts when we are born as tokens of gratitude that people present to us as a welcome into the world in which they are already rooted or perhaps a more cynical viewpoint would be to say that they are trying to curry our favour with gifts so that when we age will look upon them kindly. In any event my day of birth is tomorrow which means all my relatives that I rarely see will be calling me to wish me a happy birthday. This is usually followed by awkward chatting and then the relief of hanging up. I don't see the big fuss behind it all and for them to call upon me this one day of many to wish me good day is beyond my scope. I suppose its tradition and people just fall in line and continue the procedures if you will that have been handed down to them from their fore-fathers. I personally only call my cousins John and Phil on their birthday so the brainwashing on me hasn't gone as deep. I also call my siblings and parents because to forget their "special" days is to draw their hostility for such  "rude" behaviour. I'm probably rumbling on about this so long because I can't think of anything else and I'm getting tired of simply saying things like, "I ate at the Portly Penguin last night", or, "I worked hard this week." Both of which are of course true but nonetheless I feel that I should do some more in this space I have here on the "internet". Let's not get carried away though. I don't want to do too much more cause I am pretty lazy and what not. Anyways, my thoughts are spiraling into the abyss and I'm losing focus so I'll quit while I'm ahead, or in this case I'll just stop typing before I fall asleep.

So after yet another internet dry spell I am once again back at the wheel although it may be temporary. We've now abandoned our useless wireless internet dreams and have returned to cords. When the girls move back we'll try it again this time under the guidance of a NERD. What's new in my life let me see. Not much. I go to work and return from said work. I did however have an interesting weekend. We went camping at the summer home of Mike Ward......Grundy Lake. Yes, that's right. It was a bit costly but it was worth it. Dave, Brown and I were accompanied by Brown's girl. Also we met some boys of summer....namely; Phil, Buhold, Gordo, and Dan Durocher. Gordo hooked up with a random girl....or so the legend goes. Back tracking further still to last week I can be reminded of the good times had at the old ball game. Any cross over readers would know that Wood came with us and that it was a hoot-hollering good time had by most. We were fortunate enough to see a big win. Also in the news last week was the Big E signing with the Leafs...something I predicted a good two months ago. Who's the man?  I, of course, am. I like being right which is good cause I am most of the time. But ya; that last week and a bit have been the good days. The dog days of summer seem to be winding down and the cool nights are restoring my ability to gain rest although I've been doing a bad job of that lately. Speaking of bad lately my eating habits have gone into the toilet recently. On Sunday I ate, and not in this order, 4 hotdogs, a burger, a potato, 2 smores, 2 mallows, some chips (handful), 2 eggs,  and a whole mess of bacon. Some of the food was consumed in a sandwich format. Later that day we went to the Mandarin and I ate until I nearly puked. Last night the trend continued when Brown and I willed each other to consume a large pizza each. I have learned my lesson and have backed off the heavy eating for the time being. It was a very uncomfortable sleep. Before you all say, whoa that's gross just know that I didn't know what was going on...it was all a big whirlwind of food around and me and some went in my food hole. I couldn't help any of it. Alas as I stare up at this massive wall of text I've created I feel satisfied that enough has been said, but as I read it I realize that very little was said at all. Meh, them's the breaks.

The arrangements have been made now. I purchased a multitude of Blue Jay tickets for next week. Of course they were spoken before soon after purchase due to my overwhelming popularity which in itself stems from my searing personality. So I've been told. On a personal note though I'm really hot, and I don't mean metaphorically or in terms of my appearance. Well I am sweaty so maybe that last one applies. Its a scorcher out there. Just leaving my air conditioned truck was cause for intense and profuse sweating, its not pretty or pleasantly scented. Thank god for cold showers. I damn near stopped my heart early. Ah, the miracles of science and nature. I actually worked hard today; we laboured well into the evening. There was a large robbery at one of our affiliates and we had to move the remaining equipment off-site. It made for a lot of extra work for me, which I didn't like. It also gave me a distrust for mankind that I have been solely lacking lately. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer sort of thing. What I mean is that its ok, in fact, encouraged; to be nice to people but deep down they could be criminals so never give them the upper hand. I'm a cynical bugger aren't I? Ah well, what's good for the goose is good for the gander and all that. I have to say that the goose gets the raw deal on that one, if you know what I mean. You may have noted the use of the semi colon (Wood). I feel that it is an under-used mark of punctuation and although I don't know how do use it; I like to include it from time to time. I just don't want to leave the little fella out in the cold, that would be wrong. But by the same token I would never trust the semi colon in a pinch. And we've come full circle. I guess since the cycle has completed itself I will call it a night, or at the very least a post.
