Sunday Funday
Slept in until 8am and still felt tired. Found a bowl with perogies, some potatoes and bacon. It was pretty burned up this time. Big T was in a rush apparently. He and Jacko had plans to work ahead on stuff this morning and prepare for a long afternoon of harvesting oats again. I didn’t. Mother was gone to play pickleball and walk with her friends so I tried to go back to sleep. After flailing around unsuccessfully I went and let the dogs out and went to the bathroom (after, lesson learned) and then went back to bed. This time the nap caught and I slept from half ten to half eleven and it was deep enough that it took me some time to get out of it. Mother was home by then and we visited a bit before lunch. She made a can of tomato soup we split and had a couple mini cheese croissants. After I ate I brought lunch to Big T. I ended up riding for a round in the combine.
He revealed he plugged it last night, he tried to go the same speed after things started to get tough when the dew came on. It took them all morning to get unplugged so they were still in scramble mode when I arrived. The crop was still running well and things are hanging on equipment wise for now. Jacko had an issue with their only tractor left standing but powered thru. I chatted with them both and got home at half two then had a call with The Chef for an hour. At half three Mother and I started watching Ted Lasso with their one year free Apple TV+ that the Big T had won. It was talked up a lot so expectations were high. I still don’t like Jason Sudekis for whatever reason but the show is quite good. We binged a fair jag of it before our chicken stir fry dinner. I got to enjoy a slice of some kind of zucchini and cheese loaf on the side with some of that low calorie blueberry juice to drink.
We started right back into it after eating and continued even when Big T got home, at a reasonable hour tonight. Despite his disruptive noise, we watched until half ten. We’re well into season two. They went to bed and I went outside to stare at the sky. I walked out to get a better look at the full moon. It was really cool to see, the stars were on display too. Bedtime followed and sleep was close behind.
