A Quiet Place

My night’s sleep was not a great one. I came to consciousness around seven but couldn’t be bothered to emerge from my bed at that. I watched some YouTube and wasted my life for a couple more hours. Close to nine I willed myself to shower and change my clothes. That was a refreshing experience but didn’t do much to shake me from whatever stupour has me in its grip. I went to the kitchen and made my typical breakfast around half nine and then made a third samidge for good measure.

While I was filling my guts I continued on the YouTube on the living room television. I eventually went to my computer and did some MSC challenges and worked on some writing. At some point, hours later I felt like I should watch something more productive. No thought of doing anything constructive entered my fool head. I started by watching a movie called Man on the Ledge from 2012. It featured an impressive cast. During the early segment of the film I paused to warm up some Stouffer’s Bistro Crustini Steak and Cheddar paninis. I overcooked them, something I didn’t think possible. They were paired with two pints of water, I was feeling some physical effects of malaise and wanted to eliminate dehydration from any potential causes. I watched another film after that but I’ve already forgotten the name. Towards the end of this one I warmed another set of paninis, Mozzerella and Meatball. At this point it was clear I wouldn’t do anything of consequence this day so I chose a blockbuster for my evening’s entertainment, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. I’d seen it once previous but felt I’d enjoy it once more. And I did. It’s darker and has some interesting themes and questions. Since it’s considered a popcorn movie, I made popcorn, seasoned with dill pickle seasonings. I’m not sure how a day where I did nothing could tire me out but by the time the movie ended around ten I knew I didn’t have much time left. I was asleep around half ten. It was a wasted day where I made my world really small and escaped the greater part of it.
