Slow Tuesday

Thick, beautiful sleep was wrapped up gently with some lounging and a big day for French lessons. There was no breakfast food left in the house so it got outsourced to McD’s. In the lineup I saw that they have a new promo item, a habanero bacon and egg McMuffin. Intriguing. I got that on the side with my usual number three meal with OJ. I ate the spicy one first, the only difference was a sauce on the top and bottom. It tasted odd, a slight tinge of the Big Mac sauce with some heat. The spice wasn’t overpowering, there was some zip but it was fine. I suspect smoke would come out of Big T’s ears though. It was a fun comparison.

The drive to the spot was fine but the drive back featured a lot of people who must have had a double dose of stupid pills today. Just before home someone pulled out and tried to have a head-on collision with me. Luckily I was hyper vigilant from previous fool moves. COVID is winding down and it shows, roads were buzzing like crazy. I got home and slowed things way down. After socking back extra water I set about a task that has been looming for a few weeks. I’ve been getting notifications about it now. I need to make more space on my phone and for me that means dumping a lot of photos and videos. I have stuff from March 2020 onwards, including everything from September 2020 to today. A purge is long overdue. I plugged in my phone and tried to get files to transfer, no dice. The are the right format but they are transferring the shell of the file, not the actual thing. I was getting frustrated. I had a couple of calls in the morning to break things up but after making moves for a couple hours to find out that none of it worked, that sucks, let me tell you! I got some advice from GRP before noon that didn’t work out. I ended up buying two different pieces of software, both for $1.29, and neither helped. What I’d done wrong apparently, was trying to move folders. When I opened the folders and selected a small grouping of files they moved just fine. I had to go lighter on the videos. Anything over 200MB caused it to freak out a bit. I worked at this one and off all day. I stopped work at five but kept going on the files, finishing that at six. Then I transitioned into playing some MSC Challenges, there were a few weeks worth piled up from my time away. I started into those while consuimg my audiobook and before I knew it time had flown, it was well after eight. I decided that I’d have to forgo dinner, Oprah says not to eat after eight. So I kept on it. Then I traded screens and watched YouTube on the Mini until half nine before falling asleep with a more empty belly than usual. Can’t hurt me to miss a few meals from time to time. It wasn’t as productive of a day but I got the main task done. My phone has over 1000 less photos and over 150 less videos now. That cleared up over 10GB of space, that should keep it happy for a bit. With that win, I was able to fall asleep at a decent hour and get a nice rest.
