Road Master — The Tugboat

Woke at the normal time and scrambled to load the truck before it started to rain for real. There was a clearing out of the fridge and making of a lunch. It wasn’t a nice lunch by any means, I wrapped two chicken breasts in saran wrap and put 8-10 marshmallows in a ziploc bag. I managed to get on the road around eight, just as the rain started to pick up. I had a quick chat with the Chef that I cut off to get fuel. I filled the truck’s tank after I got a McBreakfast. I was supposed to call him right back, but I didn’t. I got on a call from 8:30am until 10am instead and then followed that up with a couple calls to colleagues to check-in and ask a few questions to round out my knowledge of what things were doing in their area. By the time that was done I wasn through the Big Smoke and Barrie and into the nicer part of the drive. Big T called quickly to check in but otherwise it was clear sailing. Around one I pulled into North Bay and stopped at the Buj’s place drop off a gift for him. We ate at the same time near each other, it was nice to do.

Once I got back on the road the Chef called me back wondering if I’d fallen off the face of the Earth. To be fair, it had been several hours. We chatted for a bit. I finished the drive and unloaded the truck. It was a short span of visiting until we started into the family feast. It was odd being in someone else’s kitchen for it. I tried to help out and we got it done, fancy chicken burgers and a jalapeño slaw.

The Tugboat’s version isn’t really different than the parents version but felt it should have a photo too.

After dinner we watched a movie called Child 44. It had a decent cast and would fall into the hidden gem class. Bed came after that and it didn’t take long to fall asleep. It was a long day of voyaging but the start to an exciting opportunity.
